- 05Age requirements can vary by cruise line, sailing destination, and onboard activity. In general: • Guests are typically required to be at least 21 years old to consume alcohol onboard • Casino gambling is generally limited to guests 18 years or older, though some cruise lines or itineraries may require guests to be 21+ • Most cruise lines require at least one adult in the stateroom, and guests under a certain age may need to travel with a parent, relative, or guardian • Policies can vary between cruise lines such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and other cruise providers We always recommend checking with your Travel Coordinator prior to booking if you have questions regarding age requirements, guardians, drinking policies, casino access, or other onboard restrictions.
- 06Most cruise lines require at least one adult in the stateroom, but the exact age rules can vary by cruise line, sailing location, and itinerary. In general: • Most major cruise lines require guests to be at least 21 years old to travel alone • Guests under 21 may need to travel with a parent, relative, or guardian • Some cruise lines require the guardian to be 25 years or older • Certain exceptions may apply for married couples or active-duty military guests • Infants are typically required to be at least 6 months old to sail on most cruises For the cruise lines we commonly work with: • Carnival Cruise Line currently requires guests under 21 to travel with a relative or guardian age 25 or older on most North American sailings • Royal Caribbean generally requires at least one guest age 21 or older per stateroom on North American departures • If a minor is traveling without their parent or legal guardian, many cruise lines may require a signed and notarized parental consent form authorizing travel and emergency medical treatment Because policies can change and some cruise lines have additional restrictions for certain sailings, we always recommend checking with your Travel Coordinator before booking if anyone in your party is under 21.
- 07Most cruise lines do allow pregnant guests to sail, however there are strict medical and safety policies regarding how far along a guest may be during the cruise. Because cruise ships have limited medical facilities and no neonatal intensive care units onboard, nearly all major cruise lines restrict travel once a guest reaches a certain week of pregnancy. For the cruise lines we commonly work with: • Carnival Cruise Line does not permit guests to sail if they will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy at any point during the cruise. • Royal Caribbean does not allow guests who will be more than 23 weeks pregnant at any time during the sailing or cruisetour. • Norwegian Cruise Line allows pregnant guests to travel only if they will remain under 24 weeks pregnant for the entire trip. • Many other cruise lines have similar policies that prohibit sailing once a guest reaches the 24th week of pregnancy. Additional important information: • Some cruise lines may require a doctor’s note or medical certificate confirming the guest’s due date and fitness to travel • Guests may be denied boarding at the terminal if they exceed the cruise line’s pregnancy policy, even if they have already booked travel • Policies apply based on how far along the guest will be at any point during the cruise — not just on embarkation day • Policies can vary slightly by cruise line and itinerary, so guests should always verify current rules before booking We strongly recommend that any pregnant guest consult with both their physician and their Travel Coordinator before confirming a cruise reservation.
- 08Yes! ✅ We do offer optional travel protection plans through trusted third-party providers including Allianz Travel Insurance and Generali Global Assistance. Travel protection can help provide coverage for things such as: • Trip cancellations or interruptions • Medical emergencies while traveling • Lost or delayed baggage • Travel delays • Emergency transportation assistance • Certain unforeseen covered events before or during your trip Coverage options and pricing can vary depending on the vacation package, destination, traveler age, and total trip cost. Your Travel Coordinator can help provide available protection options during the booking process.
- 09Alcohol policies vary by cruise line, and some cruise lines may allow limited amounts of wine or champagne while others may prohibit outside alcohol entirely. In many cases: • Hard liquor and beer are typically not permitted to be brought onboard • Some cruise lines may allow a limited quantity of unopened wine or champagne at embarkation • Alcohol purchased in ports of call or onboard shops is often held until the end of the cruise • Additional corkage fees may apply if permitted beverages are consumed in dining venues or public areas For example: • Carnival Cruise Line currently allows guests 21+ to bring one 750ml bottle of wine or champagne per person during embarkation on select sailings, but beer and liquor are prohibited. • Royal Caribbean generally allows guests to bring a limited quantity of wine or champagne at embarkation, subject to current policy restrictions. Because alcohol policies can change and may differ by cruise line, ship, or departure port, we always recommend checking with your Senior Travel Advisor to check your specific cruise line’s current guidelines prior to travel.
- 10Yes! Most cruise ships allow you to use your cell phone onboard, but it’s important to understand how service and charges work while at sea. Here are a few things to know: • Most ships offer onboard Wi-Fi packages for internet access, messaging apps, social media, email, and browsing • Your regular cellular provider may connect to the ship’s satellite network while at sea, which can result in very high roaming charges if international or cruise coverage is not included in your plan • Many guests place their phones in Airplane Mode while onboard and use the ship’s Wi-Fi instead • Cell service is usually stronger and more affordable while the ship is docked in ports of call • Some cruise lines also offer mobile apps for onboard schedules, dining reservations, messaging, and activities We always recommend contacting your cellular provider before traveling to ask about international cruise or maritime coverage options to help avoid unexpected charges.
- 11Yes! All of the cruise ships we work with offer onboard Wi-Fi and internet packages so guests can stay connected while at sea. Here are a few things to know: • Wi-Fi packages are usually available for purchase directly through the cruise line • Internet service may support browsing, social media, email, messaging apps, and sometimes video streaming depending on the package purchased • Speeds and reliability can vary while the ship is at sea since ships use satellite internet connections • Some cruise lines offer mobile apps that work onboard for viewing schedules, dining reservations, activities, and messaging other guests • Complimentary Wi-Fi may be included with certain upgraded packages, loyalty programs, or promotions Because internet packages and pricing vary by cruise line and ship, guests can typically review available options before sailing or once onboard.
- 12Most cruise lines automatically add daily gratuities (tips) to your onboard account to help recognize the hardworking crew members who assist throughout your vacation. Here’s how it typically works: • Daily gratuities are usually charged per guest, per day • These gratuities are commonly shared among dining staff, cabin stewards, housekeeping teams, and other service crew members • The charges are typically added automatically to your onboard account during the cruise • Guests may have the option to prepay gratuities before sailing on some cruise lines • Additional tipping for exceptional service is always optional and appreciated • Certain purchases such as drinks, specialty dining, spa services, and bar tabs may also include an automatic service charge or gratuity Gratuity amounts and policies can vary by cruise line, ship, and itinerary, so we recommend reviewing your specific cruise line’s current guidelines prior to travel.
- 13Most cruise lines allow guests to bring a reasonable amount of luggage for their vacation, but exact limits can vary depending on the cruise line, itinerary, and cabin size. In general: • Most guests typically bring 1–2 suitcases per person plus carry-on items • Cruise lines may recommend luggage limits based on the length of the sailing • Carry-on bags are recommended for important items such as medications, travel documents, valuables, swimsuits, and electronics since checked luggage may arrive at your stateroom later in the day • Some items may be restricted or prohibited, including certain appliances, weapons, candles, irons, and other safety-related items • Airlines may have separate baggage fees or weight restrictions if you are flying to your cruise departure port For the smoothest boarding experience, we recommend labeling all luggage clearly and checking your specific cruise line’s luggage guidelines prior to travel.
- 14Packing for a cruise is easy when you plan for both relaxing onboard days and fun time in port! Here are some common items guests recommend bringing: • Comfortable casual clothing for daytime activities • Swimsuits, cover-ups, flip flops, and pool attire • Lightweight outfits for warm tropical destinations • Comfortable walking shoes or sandals for excursions • Dressier outfits for dinners, nightlife, or themed evenings • Sunglasses, sunscreen, hats, and beach essentials • Travel documents including your ID, passport (if applicable), boarding documents, and any required travel paperwork • Medications and personal toiletries • Chargers, power banks, and electronics • A small carry-on bag with essentials for embarkation day Additional helpful items may include: • Motion sickness remedies if you are sensitive to movement • Reusable water bottles • Light jackets or sweaters for cooler evenings or indoor areas • Waterproof phone cases or beach bags for excursions Because destinations, weather, and cruise line policies can vary, your Travel Coordinator can also help provide destination-specific packing tips before your sailing.
- 15Yes! Most cruise lines do allow common personal grooming devices onboard, including: • Curling irons • Hair straighteners • Hair dryers • Electric shavers • Electric toothbrushes • Other standard personal care electronics However, for safety reasons, certain heat-producing appliances are usually prohibited, including: • Clothing irons • Steamers • Hot plates • Heating pads • Extension cords with surge protection • Other high-powered appliances Most staterooms already include a basic hair dryer for guest use as well. Because prohibited item policies can vary slightly by cruise line, we always recommend reviewing your specific cruise line’s current packing guidelines prior to embarkation.

- 17Many cruise lines do offer supervised children’s programs, kids clubs, nurseries, or late-night group babysitting services, although availability can vary by cruise line and ship. For the cruise lines we commonly work with: • Royal Caribbean offers Adventure Ocean youth programs along with nursery services for younger children on select ships. Some ships also offer late-night group babysitting programs for children ages 3–11. • Carnival Cruise Line offers supervised youth programs and “Night Owls” late-night babysitting/group childcare services for children and teens. Additional things to know: • Most childcare programs are divided by age groups • Some services may require reservations and additional fees • Nursery services for infants and toddlers may only be available on select ships • In-room/private babysitting is limited or unavailable on many cruise lines • Kids clubs and youth activities are often included with your cruise fare for certain age groups Because policies, hours, age requirements, and fees can vary by ship and cruise line, we always recommend checking your specific sailing details prior to travel
- 18All cruise ships operated by the cruise lines that Premiere works with include standard electrical outlets in guest staterooms for charging phones, laptops, and other personal electronic devices. In general: • Most ships offer standard U.S. 110V outlets • Many ships also include European-style 220V outlets • USB charging ports may also be available on newer ships • Guests can typically use common personal electronics such as phone chargers, laptops, curling irons, electric shavers, and camera chargers A few important things to know: • Outlet availability and locations may vary by ship and stateroom type • Power strips and extension cords with surge protection are often prohibited for safety reasons • Non-surge protected cruise-approved USB hubs or power adapters may be allowed on some cruise lines • Guests traveling internationally may want to bring appropriate plug adapters if needed We always recommend checking your specific cruise line’s prohibited item and electrical guidelines before sailing.
- 19Parking options and pricing vary depending on the cruise port, parking provider, and cruise line. Most major cruise ports offer official onsite parking garages and lots with daily rates, while nearby private parking companies may offer lower pricing and shuttle service to the terminal. Guests are encouraged to review parking details for their specific departure port prior to travel, as rates, availability, and reservation requirements can change seasonally.
- 20Your personalized luggage tags, which include your stateroom number, were originally sent as a PDF attachment with your booking confirmation email to the email address provided at the time of reservation. If you are not listed as the primary guest on the reservation, please contact the primary guest directly, as the luggage tags would have been delivered to their email address. If you are unable to locate your booking confirmation email, please contact our Travel Specialists at 1-800-869-4286 and we will be happy to assist you. Most cruise lines allow each guest to bring up to two complimentary pieces of luggage, with a maximum weight of 50 pounds per bag. Additional or overweight luggage may be subject to excess baggage fees, which could be charged to your onboard account. To help speed up the embarkation and check-in process, we strongly recommend attaching your luggage tags before arriving at the cruise terminal. We also recommend labeling all luggage and carry-on items in the event they become separated from your party during travel.
